Welcome to the Forth Valley Real Nappy Network. You will find great information here about using real nappies and the resources that are available.
If you would like to connect with others who are using or thinking about using real nappies, please join our Forth Valley Real Nappy Network group (you’ll need to become a member of the FEL website in order to join the group). Joining the group will enable you to post information, blog, upload photos and videos. We encourage you to join – it’s a great way to connect with others.
Currently the Network is a virtual community. In the past, FEL ran a “live” Nappy Network across the Forth Valley – this included hosting “nappucinos” (events in coffee shops), nappy demonstrations, loans of trial packs, promotion and awareness raising. We are currently looking at different sources to secure funding, which will enable us to start the Network up again. We would love to hear from you about your thoughts on a Network; your input would be very helpful.
Please also check out the local Stirling shop Good Green Fun. Good Green Fun aims to reduce the number of children’s items going into landfill in the Forth Valley area, whilst providing the local community with an affordable source of good quality, second hand children’s toys, clothes and equipment. It is a not-for-profit Social Enterprise, specialising in reusing and recycling children’s toys, clothes, books, prams and nursery equipment. Good Green Fun has a shop in central Stirling, selling a huge range of high quality, preloved children's items at very affordable prices.
You can purchase Real Nappies locally in Mothercare and Boots. Usual stock includes Bum Genius, Bambio Mio and Terry Towels. You can also purchase preloved nappies in Good Green Fun.
You can buy online, where there are a larger range of Real Nappies on offer. Here are some excellent websites that offer good advice and great brands:
www.rain-shine.co.uk/swimnappies.html – Rain-shine is a small Scottish family business selling an award winning adjustable reusable swim nappy. One pair fits from 3 months to 24 months and they come in 6 fabulous colours.
