Spokes ‘n Spades

drawing of bikes and spades to represent the event

Towards Transition Stirling have organised a Green-Fingered Magical Mystery Cycle Tour of Urban Sustainable Gardens in Stirling.

The community cycle trail will take in some of Stirling’s many and varied sustainable gardens: from a herbal medicine garden in Braehead to community gardening projects in Springkerse; a GardenShare scheme in Cultenhove to chickens in an inner-city tenement garden.

The event is free and open to all cyclists interested in sustainable gardening and home-grown, local produce. The aim is to share ideas about growing your own food, encourage people to try different techniques and demonstrate different ways that food can be grown in an urban environment, while enjoying a cycle around the city.
