On 6th October we will be hosting clean up events at a number of locations in Stirling including Raploch, Riverside and Springkerse and we need lots of volunteers to come and join in the fun. Schools, voluntary organisations, businesses and individuals are being encouraged to lend a hand or alternatively people can organize or participate in clean-up events of their own even if they live outside of Stirling!
Councils all across the UK work hard to keep the streets clean but with the amount of litter increasing by 500% since the 1960’s it’s an ongoing challenge. Everyone can do their bit to help, no matter what their age or background. Is your street, local park, favourite walk or bike ride littered? If the answer is ‘yes’, why don’t you do something about it on October 6th and encourage your friends, family or colleagues to help you.
Litter and fly-tipping affects everyone and no-one prefers a dirty place to a clean one, it’s time to stand together to fight the war on littering. The amount of time you spend and the amount you collect is completely up to you. What’s important is participation and doing something good and positive for your local community.
