Forth Environment Link – Active Travel

Forth Environment Link (FEL) is a Scottish environmental charity, based in the Forth Valley, leading the way on connecting people and place. We support more day to day journeys on foot or by bike; we do this through our Stirling & Falkirk Active Travel Hubs and through our strategic partnership work that include initiatives like our innovative bike share schemes. The hubs are located on Falkirk High Street and at Stirling Train Station, they provide: information and resources on cycling and walking; advice on low carbon travel options; information on and access to relevant training; partnership support and signposting to events in the local community designed to increase active travel.

 

Active Travel Development Manager

Working as part of FEL’s senior management team to develop and enhance the organisation’s profile and reputation within its core areas of activity. The Active Travel Development Manager will be responsible for projects and staff, ensuring delivery is effective and efficient. The post holder will also support the Executive Director with developing and implementing the organisations strategic vision and fundraising requirements.        

You will have experience of working within a dynamic and expanding organisation. A pro-active, flexible and adaptable approach will be essential as you support an organisation with people and communities at its heart.

You will work closely with the FEL management team to ensure that FEL’s programme activity is delivered in accordance with agreed strategic aims and objectives.

You will have line management responsibility for a small, dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Alongside the Executive Director, you will help deliver and develop a comprehensive Active Travel function for the organisation, reflecting the ambitions the Board and Management team have for FEL’s continued growth and long-term sustainability.

Fixed term until 31st March 2020 (This post is likely to continue subject to securing additional funding).
